A Mead day
7.30am – Breakfast Club*
A delicious, healthy range of breakfasts and cereals, with juice and toast, followed by a supervised playtime outside
8.30am – Arrival in the classrooms
8.50am – Assembly
This is collective worship and includes all members of school whenever possible. On Thursdays, children meet in their houses for House Meetings.
9.15am – Lessons begin
10.40am – First Breaktime
This is staggered for Infants and Juniors, and includes a snack and drink
12pm – Lunch
Our in-house cooks serve a wide range of delicious, hot, wholesome and nutritionally-balanced dishes. There is always a demand for seconds!
12.45pm – Lower Kindergarten leave if not staying all day
1.30pm /2.15pm – Infant/Junior afternoon lessons begin
3.25pm End of normal school day
3.30pm Munch Bunch*
This is an after school club for Infants, where they are given tea, and have the opportunity to have supervised play, craft and games times
3.40pm Junior Clubs begin
4.30pm Prep begins for all Juniors
Prep is supervised in classes, and allows all children the time to complete homework in a classroom with a teacher to hand for assistance.
5.30pm Home time for all pupils
As you can see, we manage to fit an awful lot into our days! While timetables vary according to age, this summarises the key times within our school day.
*indicates an extra charge. These activities can be booked with the Secretary on the day if required. Breakfast operates on a ‘turn up’ basis.
