Wed 5th Dec 2018 : Fantastic Festive Art Projects
It's a very productive time of year in the Art Department here at The Mead!
Our Key Stage 2 (Years 3-6) children have been busy making Christmas trees, decorative mobiles, beautiful baubles, personalised advent calendars and festive house and garden models.
There are no limits to how creative the children can be with their Christmas projects which they design and put together over a series of weeks.
Head of Key Stage 2 art, Mrs Debbie Latty said: "The children absolutely love working on these projects. It's a chance for them to really use their imaginations and creativity and develop their design skills as they have to think carefully about the best tools and materials to use. When I first set the projects they often look at me with a worried expression, but they really surprise themselves with what they can do and it gives them a real sense of achievement and builds confidence in their own abilities. They look at me and say 'Wow, I did that!'"
The pupils' wonderful artwork is certainly making the school feel very festive and jolly indeed.
