Mon 10th Dec 2018 : Interactive Day of Shakespeare for Key Stage 2
"The course of true love never did run smooth"... Our Year 3-6 pupils recently experienced the twists and turns of the relationships between Lysander, Helena, Demetrius and Hermia courtesy of the fantastic Young Shakespeare company.
The team of professional actors lead a wonderul day of interactive performance workshops based on Shakespeare's well known play A Midsummer Night's Dream.
The dynamic workshops involved the children in the story, language and characters of the play, culminating in a fast-moving abridged performance with lots of audience participation.
Mrs Victoria Hall, Head of Performing Arts said: "The children were involved in an interactive workshop in the morning and then watched and took part in the performance in the afternoon. It was a fantastic opportunity for the children and a really accessible and fun way for them to experience Shakespeare's work. They were absolutely transfixed from the first moment."
