Sport at The Mead School
Competition, honest, sportsmanship and endurance are fostered through Mead sport.
All pupils, whether boys or girls, have the opportunity during their time with us of playing football, rugby, cricket, rounders, netball, tennis, badminton, athletics, swimming, Judo, table tennis, trampolining, track and field events, skiing and windsurfing.
Specialist staff provide a range of sporting activities through the year. A bespoke curriculum develops the natural talents of all our pupils. Participation in a wide range of sporting fixtures and tournaments provides opportunities for personal achievement and match success.
Our sporting motto is 'Participate, practise, perform, succeed!'
Sport continues as a thread of enjoyment and excellence throughout the year. The Annual Sports Day, inter-house matches and Swimming Gala showcase individual pupils' talents. Mead pupils regularly participate in Area and National Independent Schools Association sports events such as rugby, football and swimming. The Annual School summer holiday develops a love of outdoor pursuits and water sports. The Year 3/4 Bushcraft trip develops orienteering skills and a growth in independent outdoor exercise and team participation. Extensive extra curricular sports clubs are offered to Key Stage 2 pupils every afternoon after school, all year round.
